New York’s primary elections have been thrown into chaos and confusion after the state’s highest courts rejected the congressional and state Senate district maps, ruling them unconstitutional. And as the state Assembly maps also make it through the courts, Ali Najmi, a leading election attorney, joined Errol to discuss what the court ruling means for the upcoming primaries and candidates. He also discussed controversy surrounding the Brooklyn Democratic Party involving forged ballot petition signatures. And he weighed in on the changing political makeup in Queens after New Yorkers voted for a diverse City Council class, including the first Muslim woman member elected.
