After President Biden announced Ketanji Brown Jackson as his Supreme Court nominee, Senator Charles Schumer said the U.S. Senate would move her nomination expeditiously. If confirmed, Jackson would be the first Black woman to serve as a justice in the court’s history. Errol discussed the historic nature of the nomination with Olatunde Johnson, a Columbia Law School professor who served on Biden’s Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court. And as a former clerk for Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, she discussed some of the cases currently on the docket and the challenges that Jackson faces.
